Attendees can expect some improvements to the site

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The usual convoy of hard core early birds making their way through the gates Wednesday signaled the start of the 29th edition of Countryfest.

General Manager Rob Waloschuk says if you make it up to the site tonight, you're in for some great shows.

"Yeah, we've got the Roadhammers on the one stage and we've got the Headpins and Honeymoon Suite on the other stage so we're looking forward to a really good night," Waloschuk said.

With another stellar main stage line up and well known classic rock bands on the Hilltop Stage, fans can expect a great mixture of live music entertainment to take in.

The preparations have gone smoothly and organizers are hoping the weekend goes just a smooth.

"The set up has gone excellent, we've got a lot of new improvements and stuff that people are going to be happy about," said Waloschuk.

A Countryfest tradition will be upheld to the utmost Sunday with an all Canadian line up.

"We have all kinds of Canadiana happening, all our main stage artists are Canadian Paul Brandt, High Valley, Lindsay Ell the list goes on," said Waloschuk.

Fans can expect some highfalutin fun events mixed in with the high caliber music entertainment.

"We celebrate Canada day with fun contests like best dressed Canadian all that kind of stuff just lots of fun times," said Waloschuk.

Countryfest board members estimate the event will have a ten million dollar economic impact on the region throughout the weekend.
