Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba's annual art auction will have a 50's theme.
The 29th annual event is on tonight starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Westman Centennial Auditorium.
The 1950's "mad men" style party features jazz and 50's standards performed by an 18-piece band comprised of musicians from the westman region.
Along with the band, there'll be an open bar, delicious appetizers and over 70 pieces of art.
AGSWM Director John Hampton says there'll be more than just paintings going up for bids.
"We also have sculpture, we have ceramics, we have digital prints in there and an assemblage that's bringing things from everyday life and making art out of it so it's going to be quite a variety," Hampton said.
Folks in attendance will have a chance to own unique pieces of art from area artisans.
"There are over 70 artists that are exhibiting works for sale, beautiful works, primarily local artists from Brandon and Manitoba but also a few national gems in there as well," Hampton said.
To get in on this must attend party tickets will cost you $65.00 but Hampton says it's money well spent.
"Your ticket gets you all the appetizers you can eat, all you can drink, the live entertainment and of course access to the art," Hampton said.
