Winnipeg, MB (CKLQ) - They might not be the highest priority in the province, but the flows on the Assiniboine and Souris River are expected to be high this spring.
The Provincial Government released their first flood outlook for 2019, and said there is expected to be major flooding in the Red River Valley.
Also mentioned was the Assiniboine and Souris rivers, with the flow expected to be high, but below flood protection levels.
The water may flood some low-lying areas and farmland.
Below-normal temperatures in March and April will further delay the snow melt, which is not good news for any prevention.
