Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Brandon Bobcats women’s volleyball team was points away from forcing a fifth and deciding set against the Mount Royal Cougars, but were stopped just short.
An incredible 9-0 run by the Cougars in the fourth set, after trailing 23-16, clinched the victory and the weekend sweep for Mount Royal.
Brandon fell 2 sets down early as the Cougars won 25-20 and 25-15.
And after falling behind early, they roared back and won the third set 26-24.
The win for Mount Royal pushes the team into 7th in the Canada West and leapfrogs the Bobcats.
Brandon is 10-12 in conference play.
The Bobcats will finish their season next weekend with playoff spot on the line when they take on Alberta.
Mount Royal will travel to Calgary for a home and home series.
