Logan Boulet signed up to be an organ donor shortly before tragic accident

Saskatoon, SK (CKLQ) - Six individuals lives were saved after an organ donation by late Humboldt Broncos hockey player Logan Boulet.

Shortly before the tragic bus and semi collision that took the lives of 16 people on Friday, Boulet had signed a donor card after he turned 21.

After the crash Boulet was put on life support, but was taken off support overnight and his organs were donated to science.

After news about the donation reached the public, it has caused a spike in donors, as many others are signing up to become organ donors themselves.

The Canadian Institute of Health Research says one donor can benefit more than 75 people and can save up to eight lives.
