UPDATE: Brandon man admits to starting house fire on Louise Avenue

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - On Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m, a 911 call was received about a fire in the 300 block of Louise Avenue.

As smoke and flames were coming out of the side of the house in the 300 block of Louise Brandon Police made sure all occupants got out safe.

Officers then observed and approached a man who was staring at the fire.

During their conversation, the man said he lived in the main floor suite which was on fire.

He then admitted to starting the fire. Police arrested the 34yr old Brandon man for Arson.

He was lodged at BCC to appear in Court today.

Further investigation is underway.


Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Brandon Fire and Emergency crews continued to battle a blaze at 338 Louise Avenue well into Tuesday evening.

The fire started in the middle of the afternoon Tuesday at a home located across the street from the New Era School playground.

Before fire trucks arrived, flames began shooting out of the south side main floor window of the multi story structure.

Streets were blocked off as crews extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
