The 4th annual "Get Swabbed" campaign gets underway this Friday at Brandon University.
The goal is to get stem cell donations, as there are 1,000 Canadians looking for a perfect match.
The event is open to the public, and optimal donors are men between the ages of 17 and 35 with diverse ethnic backgrounds.
The Healthy Living Centre's main gym will host the event from 11am-2pm.
It's in honour of former Brandon Bobcat Donovan Gayle who was diagnosed with leukemia in June.
