Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The Daly House Museum holds its Annual Fundraiser this weekend.
Fittingly, the event is a tribute to "The International Day of the Woman".
The Fundraiser features a theatrical production called "HER-STORY".
The production is a presentation of the Assiniboine Theatre Company directed by local teacher Kenneth Jackson.
Fran Perrin of Daly House describes it as an intriguing look at pioneering Canadian woman who broke the glass ceiling.
"It details the lives of five or six women that are sort of famous in Canadian History and in the show they're actually going to be interviewed by characters played playing the parts of CBC news anchors Barbara Frum and Knowlton Nash," said Perrin.
Perrin adds the production has more than one local connection.
"We've actually got Karen Chrest playing Kay Rowe a great Brandon celebrity from years ago who was actually a best friend of my mom's," Perrin said.
The Saturday night fundraiser also features a home style meal.
The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Ukrainian Reading Hall.
Tickets are still available at dailyhousemusueum.ca.
