Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - It's Pink Shirt Day in Canada, a day to stand up against bullying.
Bullying is a serious issue that many people and kids experience at schools, workplaces, communities or online.
Bullying is more than a physical attack or being shoved into lockers, it includes: being teased, tormented, excluded and ignored.
In severe cases, bullying can lead to depression or even suicide when victims feel helpless and suffer in silence.
Today, students in Manitoba and Nunanut will focus on bullying prevention.
A film festival made up of 12 short videos created by students from Kindergarten to grade 12 will feature the affects bullying has on everybody.
Participating schools are encouraged to view the videos and open a healthy discussion on bullying.
