Motorcycle - deer collision kills two on Yellowhead Highway

76-year-old woman and 64-year-old from Strathclair killed Monday morning

Two Strathclair residents are dead after a motorcycle collided with a deer on the Yellowhead Highway.

The collision happened Monday morning at the junction of Highway 16 with Provincial road 250 near Newdale.

The 76 year old passenger was declared dead on the scene.  The 64 year old driver was taken to hospital by STARS helicopter, where he died.

The identities of the deceased have not been released.  Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.

The RCMP's  forensic collision team is working on the case.
