Virden, MB (CKLQ) – Rylee Zimmer scored two goals and Riley McVeigh stopped all 31 shots as the Virden Oil Capitals put up a dominating 4-0 victory over the Selkirk Steelers in Game 3 in the MJHL quarter-finals.
Virden put up 57 shots on the Steelers and chased Steelers goaltender Hayden Dola from the goal midway through the third period.
Zimmer scored the first and last goal of the game for Virden.
Garrett Sambrook and Kyle Salaway pitched in for the other goals for the Oil Capitals.
Virden went 2 for 4 on the powerplay in the game, while they killed off all four penalty kills in the game.
With the game 3 victory, Virden takes a 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.
Game 4 takes place in Selkirk on Friday night, starting at 7:30pm.
