Brandon Police remind residents to take security measures

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Brandon Police are reminding motorists to lock their vehicles.

This comes after a number of unlocked vehicles in the Green Acres area had contents removed overnight.

Sergeant Ed Conway says these are crimes of opportunity.

"They didn't break any windows, they looked in the car, saw something and then took whatever they wanted from those vehicles, Conway said.

Conway says vehicle owners and residents in general should stay vigilant against criminal activity.

"If someone does have the will or the want they're going to go into your vehicle so why not make it a little more difficult for them and lock up all doors and keep valuables out of sight," said Conway.

In these latest cases the culprits only hit vehicles that were unlocked.

If you see suspicious behavior in your neighborhood you are asked to contact the Brandon Police at 204-725-2345.
