Traffic stops in Dauphin lead seizure of drugs and weapons

Two Manitoba face charges in court today


Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Dauphin RCMP seized a large amount of drugs and weapons following two traffic stops over the weekend.

The first of which happened on March 15, around 9 p.m. on Main Street in Dauphin.

Mounties searched the vehicle resulting in the seizure of 764 grams of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia.

36-year-old Steven Gerald Catagas of Grandview faces various drug related charges.

The second traffic stop occurred on 4th Avenue S.E. in Dauphin where RCMP seized 11 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of Canadian currency and various weapons, including a conducted energy weapon and a can of bear mace.

29-year-old Preston Rodger Flatfoot from Dauphin faces numerous drugs and weapons related charges.

Both men are scheduled for court appearances in Dauphin later today.
