55-year-old from North Cypress-Langford died in collision Thursday night.

A 55-year-old man is dead after a train-van near Austin.

The RCMP say a van was travelling northbound on Road 69 North and was struck by an eastbound CN train around 10:30 p.m. last Thursday night.

The van driver, who was from the North Cypress-Langford, was declared dead at the scene.

Alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash.

RCMP Forensics continue to assist CN Police Service in the investigation.

The death comes four days after a teen died in a motorbike-train collision east of Winnipeg.
