Kamloops, BC (CKLQ) – It’s another win for the Brandon Bobcats men’s volleyball team.
The team extended their win streak to 13 after a four set win over Thompson Rivers in Kamloops, BC.
The Bobcats lost the first set 25-20, but bounced back in the next three 26-24, 27-25 and 25-20.
Seth Friesen led the way for the Bobcats with 12 kills, 1 ace and 4 blocks.
Earlier in the evening, the women’s volleyball team fell in a hard-fought five sets against Thompson Rivers.
The set scores were 25-29, 25-13, 22-25, 22-25 and 17-15.
Nikala Majewski broke a Bobcats record once again in the game, getting 25 kills in the game, beating the mark she set earlier this season.
Bobcats drop to 4-17.
Both volleyball teams play in Kamloops once more on Saturday.
In Brandon, both basketball teams won on home court.
For the women’s game, it was an overtime thriller, as the Bobcats beat the Mount Royal Cougars 92-82.
The game almost didn’t get to the extra frame, but a Logan Biccum two point shot with 5.9 seconds left tied the game at 79.
In what will be her last weekend on home court, Lauren Anderson put up 26 points and 13 rebounds.
The win was also the Bobcats first one on home court this season.
In the men’s game, the Bobcats dominated Mount Royal 94-74, which included a 28-8 third quarter.
Troy Grant had 21 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
Both basketball teams play the Cougars again on Saturday at the Healthy Living Centre.
