COVID-19 has forced CurlManitoba to postpone the 2021 Manitoba Open, the World’s largest and longest running bonspiel.
According to the organization's website, the decision was not done lightly, but was necessary in the interest of safety and health of all volunteers, athletes, spectators and clubs.
CurlManitoba is working with the Winnipeg Curling Clubs Association to ensure that the Manitoba Open will continue to be a mainstay program and event for the curling community in Manitoba.
The event has not been cancelled outright, and the group hopes a smaller version can be staged at a late date.
Formerly the MCA Bonspiel, the 133rd Manitoba Open was scheduled to run from January 14 - 18/2021 at various curling clubs around Winnipeg.
