Applebee's Grill and Bar will be the place to be Wednesday night as the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings hosts its annual Tip a Wheat King, in support of the Western Manitoba Cancer Care Centre.
Ten members of the WHL club will be waiting on tables, signing autographs and meeting western Manitoba hockey fans from 4:30 - 8:30pm.
Leading the Wheat Kings' contingent this season will be captain Connor Gutenburg. A 5-year WHL veteran and last remaining regular from the 2016 Championship team, the 20-year old Brandon product will be joined by forwards Lynden McCallum, Ridly Greig, Nolan Ritchie, Jonny Hooker, Cole Reinhardt, Jake Chiasson and Ben McCartney as well as defenceman Jonathon Lambos and netminder Ethan Kruger.
In addition to having the opportunity to meet and mingle with members of the WHL club, fans attending the event will have a chance to win some terrific prizes, including Wheat Kings' merchandise and enjoy a number of specials, including Applebee's Wednesday Kids Eat for $2.99 Special.
The Western Manitoba Cancer Center was developed in joint partnership with Cancer Care Manitoba and Prairie Mountain Health to provide cancer care services to the Western part of Manitoba and Eastern Saskatchewan. The center combines expertise from both organizations with a network of care providers working together to provide cancer treatments closer to home.
