Brandon police investigating damage to multiple properties Thursday night

Officers also investigating break and enters, and had to deal with a string of assaults

Brandon police are searching for those responsible for damaging multiple properties Thursday (June 10) night.

Officers say between 10:00pm and 11:30pm windows were broken at homes and on vehicles in the 700 block of 22nd street, 100 block of 25th street, 100 block of 20th street, 100 block of 18th street and 300 block of 16th street. 

They also say in one incident, suspects entered a vehicle while the owner was sitting in it. The owner chased one of the two male suspects until he pulled what appeared to be a weapon and fled.

Break and Enter to Garage

On June 10, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential garage on Victory Place.  Suspects entered overnight by using the remote garage door opener taken from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway.  Stolen was an orange/grey Mongoose mountain bike with a pull behind child bike trailer.

Break and Enter to Shed

On June 10, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential shed in the 700 block of College Ave.  Suspects gained entry by forcing the door.  Once inside they stole an air conditioning unit.

Assault

On June 10, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence shortly before 7:00 pm.  The 45-year-old female suspect left the residence where she had struck the victim, but was later located at her own residence and arrested. 

During the arrest, the suspect struck an officer.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to her intoxication level and will be released today to appear in court on charges of Assault and Assault Peace Officer.  Neither the officer, nor the original victim required any medical attention.

Assault

On June 10, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault occurring in the 2000 block of Princess Ave at approximately 10:00 pm.  Witnesses report observing the suspect striking the victim, while pulling their hair.  The victim received minor injuries.  The suspect, a 21-year-old female, was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service due to her intoxication level.  She will be released when sober to appear in court on July 5, 2021 on a charge of Assault.

Assault

On June 11, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence.  Investigation revealed that the suspect, a 26-year-old male, struck the victim during an argument.  The male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level.  He will be released once sober to appear in court on August 16, 2021 on a charge of Assault.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On June 10, 2021 at 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a 13-year-old male youth who had just left his residence in spite of a 9:00 pm curfew.  Police located the youth shortly after 11:00 pm and arrested him.  In his possession upon his arrest was a machete.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.
