Brandon police searching for stolen vehicle

Officers also seize a handgun and machete, and deal with multiple arrest warrants

There were more break and enters in Brandon Thursday (July 30). 

Police say a 2013 blue KIA Forte, with a Manitoba license plate HVG 510, as well as a laptop and credit cards were stolen from a home in the 1000' block of 8th Street.

Also, sometime over the last week, a buisness on 20th Street was robbed. They say a ridgid table saw, a 40' Samsung TV and a 7 cubic ft.  Frigidaire Freezer went missing.

 On July 29, 2021, police responded to a report of a man who was brandishing both a handgun and a machete in the 600 block of Dennis Street, at approximately 9:30 pm. There were several other people in the area at the time, but they had all fled prior to police arrival. There were no reported injuries.

Investigation led police to a home where a man matching security footage images of the suspect was located and arrested. He provided police with a false name.

Further investigation revealed his identity, and the fact that the 31-year-old was to abide by conditions not to possess any weapon and to abstain from alcohol consumption.

He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and was to appear in court Friday (July 30) on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Public Mischief, Fail to Comply with Release Order X2, and Fail to Comply with Probation.

On July 29, 2021, police conducted a traffic stop at 1:00 pm in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave. The driver was arrested for Drive While Prohibited. He was later released to appear in court on October 21, 2021.

On July 30, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly before 2:00 am. A 15-year-old male youth was found to be the cause of the problems, due to his intoxication. He was to abide by conditions not to consume alcohol. 

The youth was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on August 31, 2021 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

On July 30, 2021, police responded to a report of a suspicious person on Delta Bay.  Police located an intoxicated 42-year-old man. He was to abide by conditions not to consume and to abide by a 24-hour curfew. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

On July 29, 2021, a 22-year-old man attended Brandon Police Service to turn himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant. He appeared in court the same day on charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Robbery with Violence and Fail to Attend Court.

On July 29, 2021, police located and arrested a 40-year-old woman who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Probation. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On July 30, 2021, police located and arrested a 53-year-old man who was wanted on outstanding charges of Possess Controlled Substance, and Fail to Appear. He was later released to appear in court on October 21, 2021.
