Brandon's Jarod Crane is bound for Clear Lake to defend his Grey Owl golf championship.
The 54th annual tournament is running Friday through Sunday, with Crane coming off his second title in four years in 2013.
"Knowing that I've played a handful of times, and I've actually played fairly well so far, so I think the mindset is good," Crane told CKLQ's Tyler Crayston. "The expectations are always high I guess, anytime you go in a tournament you want to start strong and give yourself a chance to at least have a chance at winning."
Crane had a history making season on the links last summer, becoming the first player to ever win both the Grey Owl and Tamarack titles.
"You got to have the will and fire to want to win I guess. It's easy to lie back a little bit and just play your game and let it come or go. Last year once I had the Grey Owl, I was in the position to win both, it came down to that will and determination, to say 'I'm going to do it, and nobody is going to stop me."
