The Oak River Dodgers picked up their second straight win on Friday night, downing the Reston Rockets 3-2.
Import Taw Fredrickson scattered eight hits in the complete game victory for Oak River, pitching to contact in walking one and striking out one while throwing just 99 pitches.
Colin Bates had two hits and drove in a run for the Dodgers while Riley Shamray and Ryan Shaw also had an RBI each for Oak River, who improve to 2-and-3 overall.
Andrew Lochhead went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Reston while Brady Masson had two hits and scored both of the Rockets’ runs.
Zane Sawyer took the loss on the mound for Reston, allowing three unearned runs on six hits in eight innings.
The Rockets, who fall to 2-and-2, also hurt themselves by committing four errors.
Meanwhile, the Brandon Cloverleafs improved to a league-leading 3-and-1 with an 11-5 victory over the Neepawa Farmers.
Kevin McNeill and Mason Schiff drove in three runs apiece for the Cloverleafs while Anthony Friesen picked up the win on the mound for Brandon.
Rob Wilson went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI's and two runs scored in a losing cause for the Farmers.
