Lots of weekend Christmas themed events in Brandon

Santa Claus Parade, Film For a Cause, and A Very Bohemian Christmas Sale

There's plenty to do in Brandon this weekend to get you in the Christmas mood.

The Santa Claus Parade is Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 pm at 6th Street and Rosser Avenue. 

Environment Canada is calling for a chance of rain showers or flurries - but the temperature is expected to be above normal.

Along with Santa himself - close to 50 floats and vehicles will take part in the parade.

The entrants will all looking to take home honours for Best Parade Theme, Best Decorated Vehicle, Best Commercial Float, Best Community Spirit, Most Original - and the coveted People's Choice Award.

If you'll be attending - bring along a non-perishable food item for Brandon-Westman Christmas Cheer - and your kids' letters for Santa - the elves at Canada Post will be collecting both.


Also on Saturday - Landmark Cinemas is holding its "Film For A Cause". Doors open at 9:00 am - showtime at 10:00 am..

Bring a non-perishable food item for Christmas Cheer - and you're in to see "The Grinch."

It's rush seating. 661 seats are available. 

The theatre's full concession will be open including pretzels, pretzel bites, and pizza! 

Brandon-Westman Christmas Cheer will be present to accept non-perishable food donations. 


And there's the 3rd Annual "A Very Bohemian Christmas Sale" on Saturday at the Westridge Community Centre on 32 Willowdale Crescent.

18 local vendors will sell everything from jewellery and pottery to clothing and home decor. It starts at Noon and runs until 4:00 pm.

Parking is free - and there'll be free beverages and snacks.  

There will also be a $1.00 draw with individual prizes from each vendor - with 100% of the proceeds to the Community Health & Housing's Sober Bar.
