Manitoba tourism operators and hotels can now apply for COVID relief money.
The $2-million dollar Hospitality Sector Relief Program was first announced back in March. The program, to be administered by the Manitoba Lodges and Outfitters Association (MLOA) and the Manitoba Hotel Association will provide funding to full-time licensed resource tourism operators and hotels for fixed costs that have not been covered by other relief programs.
MLOA thanks the Provincial Government for this relief funding and hopes that this money will help resource tourism operators that have lost significant revenue due to COVID 19 travel restrictions.
"With the nature of this industry, many are facing a second year of no business due to the border being closed. MLOA would like to thank the province for partnering with and supporting these businesses and this industry during these uncertain times." Said DJ Seales, President, MLOA. "We look forward to administering this program and continuing to help the industry recover from the impacts of the pandemic."
The government will take applications until May 31st.
