If you've purchased red onions shipped from the U.S recently you may want to throw them out.

Health officials say a recent salmonella outbreak in Canada announced earlier this week has been linked to red onions shipped from the United States.

According to a release from the Public Health Agency of Canada, there have been a total of 114 cases of salmonella across five provinces since mid-July including 13 in Manitoba.
