The Prince Albert Raiders added to their point total atop the WHL's East Division with a 4-1 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday night.

The Raiders got goals from four different skaters and 26 saves from Max Paddock on route to their 30th victory of the season.

"I liked our game tonight," said Assistant Coach Mark Derlago. "It was a big boy game and it had a playoff atmosphere. The puck just wouldn't go in the net for us tonight and that's going to happen from time to time."

Spencer Moe opened the scoring for the Raiders just 4:06 into the hockey game, finding a loose puck in front of Jiri Patera and converting for his 17th of the season.

A powerplay goal from Cole Reinhardt late in the period would send the teams to the locker room tied at one.

The Raiders made it 3-1 with goals early in the second and third periods and would ice it late into the empty net as Brandon was pushing with the extra attacker.

"We took a lot of pucks to the net tonight," added Derlago. "There were lots of scrambles in and around the net and we just couldn't get one by (Max) Paddock. Credit to him, he played well tonight."

Aliaksi Protas (1G-1A) was the lone Raider with two-points on the night. Tyson Laventure and Ilya Usau had the other goals for Prince Albert.

Brandon finished 1/3 on the powerplay and aside from a couple of coincidental minor penalties, did not find themselves shorthanded on the night.

Coming off his 20th victory of the season on Friday, Jiri Patera found himself on the losing side of the ledger, making 25 saves.

The win gives the Raiders 69 points, while Brandon remains in sole possession of 3rd place with 63 points. The Saskatoon Blades picked up two points in a win over Swift Current tonight, bringing them back to within two of the Wheat Kings.

*At the time of publishing, the Winnipeg ICE had a 5-2 lead over Lethbridge in the 3rd period.

Brandon will wrap up this stretch of four games in six nights on Monday afternoon when they head to the Brandt Centre to take on the Regina Pats. (2:00 on QCountry Radio)
