A 58-year-old man has died following a single vehicle collision on Highway 41 near St. Lazare Monday (Feb 22) night.
RCMP say a vehicle had been travelling westbound into the town when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The motorist and lone occupant, from St. Lazare, suffered severe injuries and was transported to local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers say they have determined alcohol was not a factor in the collision, and that the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
