The fines keep piling up as people continue violating public health orders.

The province says, from February 15 to 21, a total of 155 warnings and 27 tickets were issued, totaling over  $33,000.

The tickets handed out include;

- 21 $1,296 tickets to individuals related to gatherings in private residences or outdoors
- five tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places; and
- one $5,150 ticket to an individual for violation of the Federal Quarantine Act.

There was also an assault on an enforcement official in Winnipeg while on duty last week. Actions like this will not be tolerated and the event is currently under investigation. The province recognizes personnel across various agencies who enforce public health orders. These individuals risk exposure to COVID-19 daily to protect Manitobans from its spread and Manitobans are urged to engage respectfully.

Since enforcement efforts began in April 2020, a total of 2,987 warnings and 965 tickets have been issued, resulting in more than $1.3 million in fines to businesses and individuals.
