Province reporting 56 new cases and one additional death due to COVID-19

Three new cases identified in Prairie Mountain Health

The province is reporting one new death due to COVID-19, a man in his 30s from the Southern health region, increasing the toll to 1,167. 

Health officials also announced 56 new cases, however, three have been removed due to case corrections, bringing the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 57,322.

Of the new cases; three are in Prairie Mountain health, four in the Northern health region, 13 in the Southern health region, 14 in the Interlake-Eastern health region, and 22 in the Winnipeg health region.

In Prairie Mountain Health, 41 cases remain active, eight of which are in Brandon, while across the province there are 537. There's also a total of 105 covid patients in hospital, and 28 in intensive care units. 

Meantime, the current five-day test positivity rate decreased slightly to 3.3 per cent provincially, down from 3.5 on Wednesday (July 21). The total number of variant of concern cases in Manitoba increased to 16,431. Of those, 1,355 have been discovered in Prairie Mountain Health.
