Game 13/24

WHEAT KINGS GAME DAY IS DRIVEN BY MAINLINE MOTORS

THE SETUP

The Brandon Wheat Kings look to make it seven in a row tonight when they take on the Prince Albert Raiders for the third time this season. The Raider's took the opener but Brandon responded with a 7-1 win last Tuesday. The Wheat Kings come into play tonight tied for top spot in the East Division with the Saskatoon Blades.

LAST TIME OUT - 3-1 Win vs Saskatoon

Lynden McCallum, Ben McCartney and Reid Perepeluk scored for the Wheat Kings, who responded after a brutal first period one night ago to earn their sixth-straight win. Ethan Kruger made 22 saves for his seventh win of the season.

WHO TO WATCH

Justin Nachbaur - The Cross Lake, MB native has six points in ten games, but has been a physical force for the Raiders all season. This includes a fight on Saturday night's win over Swift Current. Three of Nachbaur's six points have come on the powerplay.

Max Paddock-  After dealing with some injury troubles, the Brandon native was back in the lineup on Saturday and backstopped the Raiders to a win, making 19 saves in the process. Paddock has always played tough vs his hometown team and the Wheat Kings will have to take away his vision early if they want to have success.

KEYS TO THE GAME PRESENTED BY MAINLINE MOTORS

Defend the Crown- Raiders Head Coach Marc Habscheid accused the Wheat Kings of "Running Up The Score" in last Tuesday's 7-1 lopsided loss. This did not sit well with the coaching staff, players and fans of the Wheat Kings. If anything, this bulletin board material just adds fuel to this already heated rivalry.

Be Ready to Play- On this five game winning streak, the Wheat Kings have twice scored in the opening 30 seconds of the game. But on the flip side, the first period last night was arguably the worst period of hockey the Wheat Kings have played this season. They will need to avoid another showing like that here tonight.
