On August 28, 2022, Brandon police received a report of a male who attempted to use a debit card at a business at approximately 6:30 am. Police say the employee didn’t believe the card belonged to the male. Police located the male nearby, and learned he was in possession of a stolen debit card, which had been used since it had been stolen earlier in the weekend. Security footage from several Brandon businesses showed the same male making purchases with the card. Following his arrest, the 28-year-old male was released to appear in court on October 17, 2022 on charges of Fraudulent Use of Credit Card and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

On August 28, 2022 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision with wildlife in the 900 block of 1st Street N. Officers say the driver of the vehicle displayed signs of impairment. A 27-year-old woman provided breath samples, which police say were more than twice the legal limit. She was later released and will appear in court on September 1, 2022 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired, and Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

On August 27, 2022, Brandon police received a report of a disturbance outside a residence. Investigation revealed that following an argument, a 38-year-old male allegedly took the cell phone of the other individual and intentionally damaged it. The male was arrested and later released on August 28, 2022. He will appear in court on November 28, 2022 on a charge of Mischief to Property.

On August 28, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to an apartment in the 1000 block of Rosser Avenue. Suspects forced their way in at some point in the previous week through a window. Once inside they stole an Asus Laptop and Dell Alienware Laptop. On August 28, 2022, police located and arrested a 38-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fraud and Fail to Attend Court. She was later released and will appear in court on October 17, 2022.
On August 28, 2022, police located and arrested a 24-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court. Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of bear mace and a machete. He was later released and will appear in court with an additional charges of Possession of a Weapon X2.
On August 28, 2022, police located and arrested a male who was wanted on an Application Order of Disposition. He was released to appear in court in September.
