On January 18, 2022 at approximately 6:00 pm, an off duty member of Brandon Police Service came upon a vehicle they believed was driven by an impaired driver, as they had observed numerous traffic violations. On duty members stopped the vehicle at 13th Street and Richmond Avenue. Police arrested the 63-year-old male driver for alleged impaired driving. Police say the suspect provided samples of his breath more than twice the legal limit. He was later released to a sober family member to appear in court on January 24, 2022 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

On January 18, 2022, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue shortly after 10:00 am. A female suspect left the business, but was located and arrested nearby. A 23-year-old female was later released to appear in court on March 21, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On January 18, 2022, Brandon police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 200 block of 5th Street. Police say suspects forced a basement door between January 14 and January 17, 2022, and once inside, they forced open a lock box and stole sets of keys. On January 18, 2022 at 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated individual causing problems in a residence. Police say others in the home were allegedly unable to prevent the actions of a 32-year-old man from escalating. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On January 19, 2022 shortly before 5:00 am, Brandon police responded to a report of a female at a business in the 100 block of 12th Street. They say employees allegedly caught the woman doing illicit drugs in the washroom. Police say a 19-year-old woman was in no condition to care for herself, and was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On January 19, 2022, police located and arrested a 36-year-old woman who was wanted on outstanding charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Court Order X7, and Fail to Appear X2. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today (Jan 19)
