On October 4th, at 10:00am, a report was received of a single motor vehicle vs pedestrian collision at the crosswalk in the 1900’ block of Richmond Avenue. A Ford F150 pickup was travelling westbound when it struck an 80-year-old man who was crossing the street. The driver of the truck failed to remain at the scene of the collision. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. At 4:15 pm, police located the driver of the truck and placed him under arrest. A 67-year-old man was held in custody as the investigation continues.

At 3:44 pm, Brandon police received a report of an assault that occurred at a local school. A female student had been assaulted by another female student and sustained injuries to her upper body. A 12-year-old suspect was located and arrested. She was then turned over to a parent and released with a court date of December 6th, 2022.

At 5:29 pm, police received a call from a 51-year-old man indicated someone was causing a disturbance outside his residence. Police attended and the person causing the issue was gone; however, the caller was found to have a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and released for court on December 5th, 2022.

At 10:06 pm, Brandon police were flagged down by a man indicating a suspect just threw a rock through his window. Police observed the suspect fleeing the scene on a bike. A 28-year-old man was apprehended in the 800’ block of 5th Street and arrested. He was also found to be breaching a curfew. He was lodged at BPS for court in the morning.
