On November 13, 2022, at approximately 10:00 am, Brandon police responded to a report of a female who was in distress at a business in the 200 block of 18th Street N. Police say the 19-year-old woman was allegedly brought to Manitoba from Quebec by a 32-year-old woman for the purpose of trafficking her for sexual services. The female suspect was arrested and police consulted with the Quebec office of Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions prior to releasing her on an Undertaking. She will appear in court on February 9, 2023 on charges of Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration, Material Benefit from Sexual Services and Procuring.

On November 13, 2022, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 800 block of 18th Street at approximately 11:00 am. A 28-year-old female suspect was located just outside the business and arrested. Police say she still had the merchandise in her possession, and she was to abide by conditions not to attend the business. The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Probation and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

On October 19, 2022, Brandon police received a report of a credit card that was stolen from a vehicle parked on Ericson Crescent after suspects broke a window. The suspect then used the card to make a purchase at a local business. Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying the suspect. On November 13, 2022, police located and arrested a 15-year-old boy. He was later released and turned over to a parent. He will appear in court on January 31, 2023 on charge of Use of Credit Card X6 and Possession of Credit Card.

On November 14, 2022, at approximately 12:30 am, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence. Investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly assaulted an adult female before fleeing the home. A 28-year-old man was located and arrested a short time later. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level and will be released once sober to appear in court on January 16, 2023 on a charge of Assault. The victim did not require medical attention.
