On January 20, 2022, Brandon police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 800 block of 5th Street at 1:25 pm. Police say the homeowner arrived home and allegedly discovered two suspects wearing masks inside. The suspects fled taking with them a rose gold MacBook Air 13”. The two suspects were wearing black hoodies and masks. Their gender is not known. Police canine attempted to track the suspects, but they were not located. On January 20, 2022 at approximately 4:30 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence in the 300 block of Louise Avenue. Police say their investigation revealed that one of the residents, a 14-year-old girl, had set a couch on fire following an outburst in which she made holes in the walls. The fire was extinguished with only minimal damage occurring. The teenager was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. She is to appear in court today (Jan 21) on charges of Arson with Disregard for Human Life, and Mischief to Property.

On January 20, 2022, Brandon police located and arrested a 45-year-old woman who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation X3 and Fail to Attend Court. Upon her arrest, police say she was allegedly in possession of bear mace contrary to a court order. She was later released and will appear in court on March 17, 2022 with additional charges of Possess Prohibited Weapon, Possess Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Order and Fail to Comply with Probation.

On January 20, 2022, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence at approximately 12:30 pm. According to officers, one of the people involved was to abide by conditions not to communicate with one of the residents there. A 34-year-old man was arrested and later released to appear in court on March 17, 2021 on charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.

On January 20, 2022, Brandon police responded to a report of a break and enter to a multi-unit residence in the 1300 block of Lorne Avenue. They say suspects forced their way through a door sometime over the previous ten days. Change from the laundry machine, an assortment of tools, an MP3 player, a picnic basket, clothes and a roll of copper were all stolen. Back on March 21, 2021, police responded to a two vehicle crash in the 800 block of Louise Avenue at 1:00 am. Police believe one of the vehicles ran a stop sign and was struck by the second vehicle, which had the right of way. The driver of the vehicle, that allegedly ran the stop sign, was transported to the hospital by ambulance with injuries. A 21-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving and provided samples of his blood. On January 20, 2022, following the testing of the suspect’s blood indicating the suspect was impaired by drugs at the time of the crash, he was arrested for Driving while Ability Impaired, and Driving While Ability Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration. He’s to appear in court on February 3, 2022.

On January 21, 2022 shortly before 4:00 am, police responded to a report of a fight at a residence. Police say their investigation revealed that two female youths had been fighting. One of the youths, a 16-year-old, was allegedly intoxicated, and police say to prevent her behavior from escalating or continuing, she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
