The sale of lottery tickets in Manitoba and VLT and casino revenues took a dive this year, but cannabis and alcohol sales were up.
In its annual report, the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation says casino revenues decreased by $8.6 million, while VLT revenues dropped $1.3 million – both had been trending higher before COVID-19 restrictions in March.

Cannabis revenues increased by about $24.5 million to just over $51-million, and liquor revenues increased by $13 million.
This past year, the MLLC says nine more private cannabis retail outlets opened in the province, for a total of 29 locations.
The corporation reports a net income of more than $606 million in 2019-20, down from a net income of just over $616 million the previous year.
