On January 17, 2023, Manitoba RCMP arrested and charged 46-year-old Melvin Catcheway with Manslaughter, in relation to the January 14, 2023, homicide on Skownan First Nation.
He was remanded into custody and appeared in court today in Swan River, Manitoba.
RCMP Major Crime Services continue to investigate.

On January 14, 2023, at approximately 10:25 am, Winnipegosis RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence on Skownan First Nation.
Officers arrived at the residence and located a deceased 68-year-old male victim. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
Major Crime Services, along with RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Winnipegosis RCMP, continue to investigate.
