The province is reporting no new deaths due to COVID-19, keeping the toll at 1,164.
Health officials also announced 39 new cases of the virus, however, two cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 37 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 57,065.
Of the new cases; two are in the Northern health region, three are in Prairie Mountain health, nine are in Southern health, 10 in the Interlake-Eastern health region, and 15 in the Winnipeg health region.
In Prairie Mountain Health a total of 67 cases remain active, eight of which are in Brandon, while province-wide there are 958. There’s also 120 covid patients currently hospitalized in Manitoba and neighbouring province’s, and 27 receiving intensive care.
Meanwhile, the current five-day test positivity rate decreased slightly to 2.9 per cent provincially, down from 3.4 on Thursday (July 15). The total number of variant of concern cases in Manitoba also increased to 16,202. Of those, 1,343 have been discovered in Prairie Mountain Health.
