The province is reporting death number 20 related to COVID-19, a man in his 70s from the Prairie Mountain Health region.
Health officials are also advising of 39 new cases, none in the Prairie Mountain Health region, increasing Manitoba’s total to 1,919.
The number of active cases has dropped to a total of 29 in PMH, including 9 in Brandon, however across the province, active cases have risen to 618. The number of people in hospital sits at 13, with seven people in intensive care and 1,281 people have recovered.
Meanwhile, Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Brent Roussin continues to reminds Manitobans to reduce the number of close contacts outside their household, and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces. In addition, they should focus on these fundamentals to help stop the spread of COVID-19:
– Stay home if you are sick.
– Wash/sanitize your hands and cover your cough.
– Physically distance when you are with people outside your household.
– If you cannot physically distance, wear a mask to help reduce the risk to others or as required by public health orders.
