The province is reporting one new death due to COVID-19, a woman in her 60s from the Winnipeg health region, increasing the toll to 968.
Health officials also announced 210 new cases, bringing Manitoba’s total to 37,808.
Of the new cases; seven are in Southern health, 12 are in the Interlake-Eastern health region, 15 in the Northern health region, 19 in Prairie Mountain health, and 157 in the Winnipeg health region.
In Prairie Mountain health, 178 cases remain active, 27 of those are in Brandon, and province-wide there are 2,093 active cases. A total of 83 covid patients are currently in hospital battling the virus, and 21 in intensive care units. The current five-day test positivity rate increased slightly to 7.6 per cent, up from 7.1 on Sunday (Apr 26).
Meantime, the province’s total number of variant of concern cases in Manitoba has increased to 1,309, and of those 65 have been in Prairie Mountain health.
