The remains of Jordan Ross have reportedly been found nearly two weeks after the owner of Grand Valley Park campground, just west of Brandon, went missing.
On the Facebook group, “Find Jordan Ross”, his family posted today “It is with heavy hearts that we were informed by the RCMP that a body was recovered in the river yesterday (June 30). It was confirmed that the phone found on the body belonged to Jordan. 100% confirmation will take a while yet. The search for Jordan is over. He is home. Not how we want, but we can find peace in knowing he’s no longer lost out there, and the healing process can begin. Thank you for your love and support through this very difficult time.”
In an email to Q Country/Star FM News, Manitoba RCMP said “On June 30, 2022, at approximately 1:00 pm, Brandon Police Service and Brandon RCMP, responded to a report of a body in the Assiniboine River, near Dinsdale Park, in Brandon. Officers attended and a body was recovered from the river. Identity is unknown at this time and an autopsy will be conducted.”
The 41-year-old Ross had left his home on the morning of June 17th to do some work at the campground, and later that day, his Jeep was discovered near the Highway One bridge over the Assinibone River.
Shortly after, intensive searches began involving family, friends, police and hundreds of volunteers using kayaks, aircraft, and drones to scour the bush and the water for any trace of Ross. The Hutterian Aquatic Emergency Response Team also deployed cadaver dogs and an underwater scanner to try and get a glimpse through debris in the river.
The police investigation continues.
