A Timely Fundraiser to Help Samaritan House

Samaritan House Ministries has been working to reach those in need in and around Brandon for nearly three decades, now they need OUR help. This is a snippet of a Press Realease they put out Saturday.

"With the Covid-19 outbreak being declared by Public Health at the Safe and Warm Shelter site located at 820 Pacific Ave in Brandon, the shelter is now closed until it can safely be reopened. There will be staff available at the location this evening from 6:30-8:00 pm to provide information and support for our clients who require it. We have been working under the advice of public health officials and in partnership with local agencies and services to ensure staff, client and public safety.

Our Food Bank has also been impacted by this outbreak and are operating at a limited capacity until it is safe to fully reopen." Get more info on how their Operation is responding HERE.

While we've been treated to some mild temps of late. Winter is Coming. There IS however a way you can help. Every year Samaritan House is part of a Fund Raiser that supports the Shelter and all of the work they do.

This Year "Coldest Night of the Year", a virtual walk to support Homelessness will be held of February. 20th. The Coldest Night of the Year is a covid-safe, family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. Consider helping this year, wether it's by Walking or supporting a Walker the good you do is measurable. Get more info HERE and HERE and be safe out there.
