During my childhood, there were plenty of nights where my dad was the one responsible for cooking for my sister and me. Most nights, though he’ll deny it now, he’d stick with the classic hot dog and beans. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what mom would have done. Mom’s cooking usually outdid dad’s, which isn’t to say he didn’t try, he just didn’t have a vast repertoire of things he could cook. Heck, he’s still ok with having a bowl of cereal for dinner and calling it a satisfying meal.
In all seriousness, he’s upped his cooking skills in recent years. Is he as good as mom? Maybe! I also know that I’m not alone in the mom is better than dad at cooking mentality. Tilly Ramsay, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, recently revealed that she prefers her mom's cooking to her dad's! That’s a pretty ballsy thing to say, especially to one of the angriest men in the world. I mean he’s not gonna hurt his kid, but hearing that his skills don’t stack up to his wives has gotta be a little demoralizing.
