Some new names are going up on Brandon University’s Sports Wall of Fame this weekend.
The 2008-2009 men’s volleyball team is being inducted.
The Bobcats captured the program’s first-ever bronze medal that season, just four years after making the jump to the Canada West conference.
They also advanced to Nationals for the first time after a dramatic home court playoff win over the UBC Thunderbirds.
Seven individuals are also being honoured: volleyball stars Paul Sanderson, Andrew Korol, Becky Birch (nee Young) and Teagan Hunter are entering the athlete category.
Bill Gadd, Daryle McCannell and Bev Neufeld are being recognized as community leaders.
Tickets are on sale at the front desk of the Healthy Living Centre for the Sports Wall of Fame breakfast – which starts at 8:30 am Saturday, October 19th at the Victoria Inn.
