It was déjà vu for Donata Huebert of the Brandon University women’s volleyball team on Thursday night at the CIS awards banquet.
The German import was named the country’s top libero, the same award she got in her lone previous season with BU back in 2010-2011.
Huebert also earned first-team all-Canadian honours while teammate Vaovai Aiono was named to the all-rookie team.

Lee Carter was named CIS coach of the year after leading the Lady ‘Cats to a 17-5 record, which was the team’s best regular season in the program’s nine-year history.

Carter becomes the third coach in the history of BU Athletics to earn national coach of the year honours, joining Jerry Hemmings and Barnaby Craddock, who won for men’s basketball in 1980 and 2007.
Brandonite Lisa Barclay of the UBC Thunderbirds was recognized as player of the year and a first-team all-Canadian.
The former Crocus Plainsmen star led the nation in kills and points per set during the regular season.
