The NAIT Ooks are now two-time defending women’s hockey champions in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and Sherri Bowles is a big reason why.
The Elkhorn product and fourth-year forward was named a first-team all-star in helping her team capture back-to-back titles.
She had eight goals and 17 points in 16 games to finish second in the conference in scoring.
"The way our coach handled it and the way she motivated us to strive to work for that ACAC championship was totally different this year," Bowles said on this week’s edition of Monday Sports Talk on 880, CKLQ. "We took a different route comparing it to last year. We made it right to the finals last year and this year we had to go through the semis and I think that just motivated our team that much more to win the gold medal."
