The Dauphin Kings ran their Manitoba Junior Hockey League playoff winning streak to eight straight games by downing the Virden Oil Capitals 5-3 on Saturday night.
Brent Wold and Dylan Butler had a goal and an assist each for the Kings as they completed a four-game sweep of the Sher-wood Division Final before 1,066 fans at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.
Brandon product Brayden Cuthbert, Souris’ Hudson Morrison and Dillan McCombie also scored for the Kings, who swept OCN in four straight games in the first round.
Curtis Oliver had a goal and an assist for Virden with Cole Hamblin and Zach Whitecloud also scoring for the Oil Capitals.
Dauphin outshot Virden 31-24.
The Kings will now face the winner of the Addison Division Final in the Turnbull Cup Series.
The Winnipeg Blues have a 3-0 lead over the defending league champion Steinbach Pistons in that series, with Game Four Sunday night at the MTS IcePlex in Winnipeg.
