The top graduating high school hockey players in Westman are getting one more shot.
14 locals are on the roster for Team Rural who meet the Winnipeg all-stars in a one-game showdown on Sunday afternoon in our provincial capital.
The Westman High School Hockey League and AA provincial champion Neepawa Tigers are represented by three players in Garrett Rempel, Wyatt Salmon and Shane Levandosky.
The remainder of the Westman products who got the nod were Cooper Blaine of the Vincent Massey Vikings; Nathan Grenier of the Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur Wildcats; Kirby Bridges, Scott Stewart and Colton Bamford of the Cartwright/Nellie McClung/Pilot Mound Tigers; Joey Delaquis and Jared Van De Velde of the Prairie Mountain Mustangs in Somerset; David Dunn and Brayden Cullum of the Major Pratt Trojans; Skylar Canada of the Boissevain Broncos along with Brock Paddock of the Rivers/Elton Rage.
