Brandon product Keegan Treloar is hoping to put his right foot forward when he competes in the CIS Football East West bowl this Saturday.
The Concordia Stingers’ kicker will be suiting up for Team West at the annual showcase of some of the Canadian University’s top football players.
"All the top players play, and it kind of brings it into perspective for me in looking toward the next level," said the 6-foot-2, 200 pound Treloar, "More than anything, I’m here to show the scouts what I can do and show them what I can do in a setting that has all the elite athletes together."
Treloar hit 11 of 14 field goals in his third season at Concordia last fall, with his 79 per cent success rate being sixth-best in the CIS.
The former Vincent Massey Viking is eligible for the 2015 CFL Draft.
"It’s going to be good for experience in talking with everybody and all that kind of stuff," added Treloar, "It’ll also just be good to see how I stack up against everybody else in the league and that kind of stuff."
Treloar is one of three Manitobans playing in the game, joining Manitoba running back Kienan LaFrance and Bisons’ receiver Nic Demski.
U-of-M quarterback Jordan Yantz and Bisons’ offensive lineman Robert Smith will also play in Saturday’s contest.
