The Dauphin Kings are a perfect 2-0 at the RBC Cup National Junior ‘A’ Hockey Championship in Vernon, B.C.
Brent Wold had the overtime winner as the Kings knocked off the Carleton Place Canadians 4-3 on Sunday night.
Killarney’s Jesse Bernard scored twice and Souris’ Tanner Butler had a pair of assists for Dauphin.
"The guys battled hard. We came into this tournament as underdogs and we showed them we could win," said Butler. "We battled adversity coming into the tournament and we’re here, we got a couple of wins and it feels good."
Dylan Butler rounded out the goal scoring for the Kings, while Michael Stiliadis made 31 saves for Dauphin, who return to action against the host Vipers on Tuesday night (9:00 p.m. CDT).
In other action on Sunday, Medora product Trent Cassan and his Yorkton Terriers fell 5-1 against the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots in their opening game of the tournament.
Russell product Derek Falloon did not play for the Terriers as he continues to recover from a concussion.
