Brandon’s Dustin Schneider is getting the chance to wear the maple leaf with Canada’s national men’s volleyball team.
The Canadians begin their 2014 season by playing in a world championship qualifier in Mississauga this long weekend.
The Canadians are taking on Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Panama with the winner advancing to the worlds in Poland this fall.
Rivers product Toon Van Lankvelt is also on the roster for Canada, who are also prepping for their FIVB World League matches in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver at the end of the month and into June.
Schneider, Van Lankvelt and crew had their best-ever showing in the World League a year-ago, finishing in fifth-place, which allowed them to shoot up to 11th in the world rankings
